Born in Kolkata and armed with an Honours degree in Education and Child Psychology from Loreto College Kolkata and a Masters degree in Journalism and Audio Visual Communication from Symbiosis Pune; Raina always knew that Communication in any form would be my way forward. During the span of her career, she has worked as a Journalist, followed by becoming a Content Manager for Times Internet, Community Advisor- Global Channels- at Shell Technology to now a Corporate Communications and Digital Marketing Manager for Jana Small Finance Bank. However, the turning point in her life came in 2016, when she started her blog- A Pinch Of Salt. Started officially in June 2016, A Pinch Of Salt is a food blog dedicated to conducting mystery Restaurant Reviews and generating a platform of content for food-related news, events, product review, history, travel, and innovation with lots of photographs. It was one of the 5 food blogs from Bengal to have been nominated in the “Best Food Blog” category at the Food Blogger’s Association of India (FBAI) awards in December 2016 and 2017 and has been appreciated by stalwarts in the industry such as MasterChef India 2017, Shazia Khan and Highway On My Plate famed Rocky and Mayur. The Blog has also attained 3 awards at Eastern India's first Top Food Blogger Awards, 2018 under the categories -Best Style and Design Blog, Best Drinks Blog and Special Award for Best Health Food Blogger. In 2019 I yet again bagged the Best Food Video Award and Best Special Interest Blog for Top Food Blog Blogger Awards 2019 for East India. In 2020, she received the "Best Storytelling Blog of the Year" Award at the same event for 2020. I was also a 1st Runner up for the Best Blogger category at the 8th Journalism Awards, felicitated by the Former President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee. Currently, she has also been one of the primary contributors for Twinkle Khanna's upcoming book " What's in your Dabba" that sees the contribution of more than 60 celebrities, Chefs and influencers across India. Apart from this, I am also the official representative for Kolkata and Bangalore for the Food Blogger's Association, India (FBAI). The blog is currently based in Kolkata and Bangalore, with a dedicated team in both cities
