After spending four years as an Engineering graduate and earning a post Graduate degree (MBA) I have been working in marketing field for 8 years as a Consultant in MNCs like TCS and Accenture. I have also volunteered in many NGOs such as ActionAid India, GiveIndia, etc; and also have been heading the public relations of Zuv Foundation, an NGO found last year with the help of my 2 close friends to committedly work for the development, education and empowerment of women in under developed regions. In my role as a consultant, I have won many awards and accolades but the appreciation that I hold utmost close to my heart is the pride that my parents have in their eyes. While I consider myself very fortunate to get such opportunities to complete my education, many in my country is denied the basic educational rights. My objective to nominate myself for this award is to bring awareness about education. This award can not only help me boost my confidence that I am in right track to help my people but also give the nudge and the backdrop to my name where if I approach some institution for help for my people, they will most likely consider me. The underrepresentation of women in higher levels of corporate ladder continues to pose major challenges for experts attempting to make senior roles more accessible to all. Through my contribution in IT, I hope to discover various new strategies that could help to address this enduring imbalance and address this issue. As a woman, I not only want to introduce IT to all women surrounding me by handholding them to be digitally aware, but also make them feel empowered. There is no noble job as compared to the job of a educator. I try to wear that hat every now and then possible by reaching to children and women and educating them about their environment and rights. Thus if I am hopeful that my candidature does justice to the purpose of the award and I am thankful to the jury and everyone behind these award for providing people such opportunity.
