I, Prof. S. Hema Priyadarshini, working as Assistant Professor, Department of Medical Electronics Engineering, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Shavige Malleshwara Hills, Kumaraswamy Layout, Bangalore - 560078, Karnataka, India from past 10 years. I am pursuing my Ph.D from Vellore Institute of Technology as a External Part Time Scholar in the field of biomedical signal processing and instrumentation since 2014. I have published around 15 technical papers in national / international conference and reputed journals. I have written "book chapter" published in book titled "Emerging Trends in Engineering Research and Technology". The following are the awards and honours received:

  1.  “Distinguished Researcher Award 2018” given by International Journal for Research Under Literal Access for having met the outstanding excellence in the field of Research & Co-curriculum.
  2. Delivered the three-day expert lecture series on Medical Electronics for BSc Electronics students of Jyothi Nivas College from 22nd to 24th January 2018.
  3. Provided training on “ECG and EEG signals and interpretation” to Siemens Employees from 3rd to 7th September 2018 conducted by Centre for Advanced Healthcare, DSU
  4. Received “Best Innovative Project” for the guided project “Wrist pulse signal processing for analysis of early stage detection of cardiovascular diseases” during the academic year 2018-19.
  5. Received “Best Presentation Award” for the paper titled “Wrist pulse signal processing for analysis of early stage detection of cardiovascular diseases” presented at 3-Day National Conference on Electronics & Communication Engineering (NCEC -2019), IEEE DSCE student’s Branch and IEEE Women in Engineering, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bangalore, 9th to 11th May 2019.
  6. Received “Best Presentation Award” for the paper titled “PAINILLA – A Pain Relief Device Using Different Techniques” presented at 3-Day National Conference on Electronics & Communication Engineering (NCEC -2019), IEEE DSCE student’s Branch and IEEE Women in Engineering, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bangalore, 9th to 11th May 2019.
  7. Received “Research Excellence Award 2020” given by Institute of Scholars for the paper titled “Nonlinear processing of wrist pulse signals to distinguish diabetic and non-diabetic subjects” published in International Journal of Engineering and Advanced Technology, Volume-9, Issue 1, Oct 2019, pp 7105 – 7110, ISSN: 2249-8958.

  • To apply nonlinear signal processing techniques for analysis of PPG signals acquired before and after angioplasty

2. “Wrist pulse signal processing for analysis of early stage detection of cardiovascular diseases

  • Multichannel wrist pulse acquisition system was developed using optical sensors for recording wrist pulse signals from radial artery at wrist acquired for cardiac and non cardiac subjects
