I am Sonali Kaundal, an Indian plus size model and Brand ambassador of SK production born in Vishakhapatnam and brought up in Delhi. I have completed my schooling in Delhi from Kendriya Vidyalaya, B.A from Shimla and B.ed from Jammu. My father is a retired Navy officer and mother is a homemaker. I have one sibling, brother who stays in Himachal with parents. I am married and have two daughters. My husband is running business.

I have never imagined my career in modeling field because of my body shaming as I have gained a lot. People used to tease me about my weight. I get sad when clothes of my size were not available in the market. One day I was scrolling social media and found a poster and ad of Glammon Mrs. India plus size peagant.

Initially I wanted my cousin to Sangeeta Kaundal to participate in it because she had good personality, but I knew that she will not participate in it a she was not interested. But I forced her and convinced her with the offer that I will also participate in plus size. Then she agreed and this journey happened. We went for auditions and got selected out of 20 participants from Delhi. This is was unbelievable for me and I was so happy that after being so fat I got selected. From the pageant I got a chance to know about this fashion world. I was groomed by the trainers and gained more confidence but I didn't get any award or title from there. I lost my confidence again which I gained in the starting. I cried a lot but my cousin has supported me emotionally. Suddenly after few days of this pageant I got offer from Netflix for a series and bold shoot(Which I denied) from some agencies and branded runways.

At the same time Empowering plus magazine of plus size women approached me for portfolio and magazine shoot. I accepted this offer which is also published internationally. News 24 has approached me for interview. Post interview SK star productions approached me for Brand ambassador with the one year of contract which held recently.
