I am Vinu T R from Ernakulam, Kerala and known as Vinitha Raphel. I am a poet and artist. I staretd my pen life and paintings from my teenage itself. I got the first feather of appreciation as a poet in 2011 in the form of Youth Ink award. My first poetry book (Malayalam Poems) “FOZILUKAL” 2013 by Payal Books Kannur. I started my career as a fabric painter in 2012 by gifting a hand-painted saree for my cousin sister as a wedding gift. From there onwards I got so many orders both personalized and my own designs. In 2016 I started an online shop for hand-painted fabrics with the brand name ILA HANDPAINTS. Even though I was a beginner, I got so many media exposure like features published about my works in prominent magazines (Vanitha, Grihashobha, Vishukkani…), News Papers (Malayala Manorama, Mathrubhumi…) and other online platforms. I was in an abusive marital relationship at that time. ILA was the only platform to overcome all my sufferings and tortures. To overcome all the mental pressures, I got fully concentrated on my work. I experimented new ideas like typography, novel illustration fabrics, fusion sarees and mural paintings… which were not so common at that time. I got divorced in 2018 and started the new direction of my life. During these years I have been finding my happiness in both my pen life and paintings. Both are two sides of a coin in my life. ILA is the one and only supporting pillar that made me a strong and independent woman during the worse days of my life. In 2021 I got married again and now living a happy life with all my passion. My husband used to say that you should create your own space and others will recognize him as the Husband of Vinu instead of addressing me as the wife of Hari.
