A champion for the cause of Women Empowerment by passion, Mrs. Raj joined Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI) to realize her dream of leading women from the walls of the kitchen to Dalal Street. Presently, National President of the Women's Wing of DICCI, she dedicates major part of her time for the upliftment of young women, providing them with awareness, education and opportunities to become entrepreneurs through seminars, skill development classes and guidance. DICCI provides the means and connections to help her realize her aspirations of women empowerment

Started from a single salon, Purple Haze has grown on to be a franchise network with three salons in Bangalore, and many more to come up all over India. Trains the students free of charge. Helps skilled Dalit women set up their own Purple Haze across all states of India, without demanding any royalty for the franchise
