I am Dr. G. Srilatha awarded Ph.D. in Genetics on the research work entitled " Molecular Mechanism in the Etiology of Nephropathy in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus”, Department of Genetics, Osmania University, Hyderabad, India in the year 2018. Currently working as a Head of the Department, Department of Biotechnology, Kasturba Gandhi College for Women. Received a Research Ratna International Award -2019 for excellence in a research paper entitled, "Collagenase-1 (-1607 1G/2G), Gelatinase-A (-1306 C/T), Stromelysin-1 (-1171 5A/6A) functional promoter polymorphisms in risk prediction of type 2 diabetic nephropathy”, 26th February 2019. Lifetime membership in the World Research Council. I have been selected for the “InSc Young Researcher Award” in October 2020. I have peer-reviewed publications in Gene, Plos One, Inflammation, Apoptosis, Tumor Biology, and Genetic Testing and Molecular Biomarkers, and also published a book chapter entitled “Matrix Metalloproteases: Potential Role in Type 2 Diabetic Nephropathy” in the “Book: Pathophysiological Aspects of Proteases (Springer Publication). few of my abstracts have been also published in the conference proceeding. I have vast experience in handling clinical samples and data, standardized protocols in addition to my research skills; I have also developed team working and organization skills. During my doctoral work, I have trained 18 undergraduates and postgraduates for their dissertations for partial fulfillment of their degrees from 2007-April 2017. Published 15 papers in both national and international journals and 3 conference proceedings, Presented papers at both national and international conferences. Attended various Seminars, Conferences, Workshops, and Webinars. I have been awarded Research Fellowships, University Grants Commission-Senior Research Fellow-Research Fellowship in Science for Meritorious Students (UGC-SRF-RFSMS) (March 2014- April 2017), University Grants Commission- Junior Research Fellow-RFSMS (March 2012- March 2014) and University Grants Commission- Project Fellowship - (March 2010 to April 2011). Gained experience as an Assistant Professor in teaching Environmental Science at engineering college for all streams (CSE, EEE, ECE, and B.Tech Biotechnology) during 2006- 2009. I have experience in teaching subjects Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, and cell biology to B.Tech and Degree Biotechnology students and M.Sc students. I’ve played a key role in envisaging students for their research project for the partial fulfillment of their degrees in M.Tech, B.Tech (Biotechnology), and M.Sc (Biotechnology, Genetics and Biochemistry). Actively involved in conducting Bio-Club activities, conducted an International Webinar on “Biotechnology- Tools and Applications”, June 12-2020. With warm regards Dr. G.
