WORK EXPERIENCE: SEPTEMBER 2017 TILL PRESENT – Special educator at Sankalp- the Open School, a school for children with special needs Developed and implemented IEP for each special education student. Identified and implemented goals tailored to the student’s individual needs and abilities. Collaborated and Co- ordinated with parents, teachers and teacher assistants to create a holistic platform for children with special needs. Established rapport with various service providers that include speech, occupational for students who are highly functional and fall under autism spectrum, developmental delays, and children with learning disability in resource classrooms. Duties: ο· Assisting the parents of children with special needs and train them on Elearning. ο· Instrumental in creating an innovative e-learning platform through various art forms, games and team activities to make virtual learning more captivating. ο· Interacting periodically with parents and keep them updated on the virtual classes , teaching methodologies which can help them teach their wards at home. ο· Designing an innovative lesson plan for e-learning ο· Instrumental in organizing yoga workshops on “ international yoga day” ο· Organising activities that require a pupil to hear, see, say, and do something. ο· Building regular breaks into classes so that students do not become bored/fatigued. ο· Helping children who are shy to sit in a class integrate with their fellow pupils. ο· Preparing students for life outside & after school by talking to them in an adult way. ο· Rewarding pupils for trying to learn, for every efforts they make. ο· Encouraging students to actively participate in all classroom activities. ο· Assisting children who have trouble reading by using various innovative teaching aids. ο· Perform assessments on verbal and non-verbal communication abilities then recommend effective intervention techniques to address a situation with the intent of helping the student achieve his/her fullest potential. ο· Cleaning up a classroom and rearranging desks at the end of a every lesson. ο· Gathering information about a child from a number of different perspectives. ο· Organising course material into small study sessions where pupils can master subjects without becoming overwhelmed.. ο· Developed and implemented lesson plans tailored to children’s abilities. ο· Made special classroom accommodations for children as necessary. ο· Selected appropriate classroom materials games and interactive toys. ο· Divided the class into smaller groups to effectively assess needs. ο· Delegated some responsibilities to classroom assistants. ο· Worked with students on an individual basis. ο· Effectively used classroom spaces and outdoor spaces to encourage socialization. ο· Prepare periodic progress reports and establish individual learning objectives. ο· Accompanied students during the outbound trips and field trips making it more adventurous and educative. ο· Instrumental in finding sponsorships for school annual day, sports meet and also infrastructure need for the school.
