SUNANDA, a thirty fiveyears old woman,from our village,Karuvatta. Living in a tin sheeted shed with her mentally sick husband and two daughters,She proves that she is a true epitome of humanity and kindness. Sunanda's parents were died in her childhood.She was nurtured and brought up by her grandmother. Sunanda was good in her studies,and completed a diploma course in nursing.Then she went to Bihar,and worked there. But unfortunately she lost her job and the most valuable certificates due to flood there .Disheartened sunada ,was not ready to giveup,because life seems to prank her always.Later shegot married to a poor youth,and started another journey of life,amid the struggles. Everyone admitted that sunanda is an adeptin caring and nursing others.She is always a helping hand to the people around her.That paved away her to enter into public life.From 2018 onwards,she joined as a volunteer in an organisation named "SNEHASPRSAM",then a member of its executive committee, also conducted carious awareness classes among the public for various government projects.Also a true altruist,who stands for the real cause,especially with the weaker section of the society.As an active member,she arranged rejuvenating camps for children,started libraries,.She is a good librarian aswell as a good organiser.She is serving the public through her countless and dedicated service as the Secretary of Snehasparsham Library. She is an embodiment of simplicity and humbleness. It was in the month ofJanuary2020, covid19 the pandemic made all the countries into crisis.Gradually,it began to hit our place,Karuvatta also.The number of covid reporting cases increased day by day.The goverment asked the panchayats to set up covidcarecentres,for accommadating both the expatriots and the inpatriots,those who are not able to undergo home quarentine. In the beginning,only few people availed this facility.Food was prepared in the community kitchen ,and was carried to the c.c.centres.But theproblem is that even the relatives of the people who are in quarentine are not ready to supply the food. But sunanda was ready to carry it in her bicycle,without hesitation.notonce,but thrice a day.Later the covid care centre was shifted toHarippad,which is7 kilometers away from karuvatta.Here also sunanda carried the food,rode her bicycle,thrice a day,nearly50kms per day. The famous television channel Asianet came to know her dedicated service during the covid period and telecasted it in the channel.Afterwatching,this in the channel newspaper reporters,well wishersand people belong to the various walks o life,admired her.The famous film star,Padmasree Sree MOHANLAL held an interview with her.Now sunanda is recognised as one among the eight covid warriors in Kerala.Let us hope that persons like SUNANDA should be born on the earth again and again.....
