Biography

I am Jaya. Jaya Nag ... Born and raised in Purulia's Madhya Bazar in the Join family, after H. S I did M. Tech in Civil engineering but I couldn't take it as a profession. In fact, from a very young age, my meditative knowledge is all about songs, I started learning songs from my mother and then I got training in Rabindra Sangeet Nazrul Geeti and songs of three poets from different gurus. Now my Gurumaa - Maa Smt. Piyali Chowdhury is teaching classical songs and I am learning modern songs from Sri Tunai Debashis Ganguly and learning Bengali Kheyal from Kabir Sumon Mahasay...

I have received many awards in music life like National Scholarship, ABTA, State Music Academy, Student Health Home etc.

Now I try to write the song and composing it, maybe I have a different take on folk songs as Purulia's daughter so I formed a female led song band Mrittika for which the collaboration of sdp ventures - ullash is immense. And I love to write, I try to write, I am associated with some magazines.
